The project
4T Medical needed heating, cooling and fresh-air ventilation for the offices at its new warehouse and office facility in Bourn Quarter, Cambridge. The 14,000 sq ft building was undergoing a CAT B fit-out, so our installation had to work alongside the wider building-services programme.
We designed and installed a VRF air-conditioning system throughout the office accommodation. It provides heating and cooling, with different areas controlled according to how they’re used. Alongside it, we installed heat-recovery ventilation to bring fresh air into the offices while recovering some of the energy from outgoing air.
Getting the systems in place was only part of the job. Although 4T Medical appointed us directly, our work formed part of a larger fit-out involving the principal contractor and several specialist trades. Installation routes and timings needed to be agreed with the wider team so that our work could progress without holding up other parts of the project.
We worked closely with the project team to coordinate the building services and complete each stage in line with the overall programme. That planning helped us meet key milestones while keeping the wider fit-out moving.
The completed installation gives 4T Medical’s office team year-round heating, cooling and fresh-air ventilation in their new workplace. It was delivered as part of the wider fit-out, ready for the building to become fully operational.
