The project
Sandon Manor wanted to make better use of renewable energy at its wedding and events venue. The aim was to reduce reliance on grid electricity, manage energy costs and lower the venue’s carbon impact, while keeping day-to-day operations and scheduled events running smoothly.
We installed a solar PV and battery storage system designed around the venue’s electricity use. The panels generate renewable power on site, while the battery can store some of that electricity for use when it is needed. Together, the technologies give the venue more flexibility over how it uses the power it generates.
A busy events calendar meant the installation could not be planned in isolation. We worked closely with the Sandon Manor team to coordinate the programme around venue activities and minimise disruption to guests and staff. Detailed planning helped us carry out the work while normal business activities continued.
For an events venue, electricity use will not always line up neatly with the hours when solar panels generate power. The battery helps address that difference by storing some on-site generation for later use. It gives the venue another way to benefit from its solar installation, alongside using electricity directly as it is produced.
The completed system gives Sandon Manor a way to use more of its own renewable electricity rather than relying entirely on grid-supplied power. Battery storage adds flexibility when electricity demand changes over the course of the day. The project supports the venue’s goal of managing energy costs and reducing its carbon impact, with a solution designed to fit the way the business operates.
